Currently I'm re-studying human anatomy inbetween projects. Specifically the human head, at the moment. So have a confused Lyra with a human skull on her head. No, I don't know either.
Also, some self-note of sorts. - Played around with a calligraphy-ish brush for inking. Worth further experiementing with, though canvas flipping without a shortcut and on a higher resolution file is problematic. Obvious solution, try and figure out how to make a canvas flip shortcut and work on lower res for inking. - Overlay layer for highlights does not produce a strong enough contrast as I hoped it would. Play around with this at a later time. - Multiply layer for adding dark tones continues to make a significant improvement. That being said, need to define shadows further and blur others more. Solution: zoom out and step away(take a break, in other words) more often, this should make obvious errors... more obvious at time of working. - I still have no idea what I'm doing and why.
Edit: hurp-a-derp, forgot a title so have a quick one. Edit 2: Really not with it atm, here's a link to this post on my tumblr: [link] Edit 3: Featured in EQD's Drawfriend Stuff #713 - thank you!
Funnily enough, I originally planned to do a Shakespeare type picture. I couldn't find a hoof pose I liked, so I thought to myself "eff it, I'll just stick it on her head!" ...and so I did!
"Ahh Lyra? You'r doing it wrong..."
Thinking of shakespeare here gives this picture a totaly new twist ^^
